Baghdad Bob Press Briefing

Baghdad Bob, or more formally Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf (Arabic محمد سعيد الصحاف also Mohammed Said al-Sahhaf) came to world prominence during the 2003 Gulf War campaign as the Iraqi information minister.

With the tanks riding up behind him Baghdad Bob stood strong to the face of the world press corps and had said such memorable things as:

There are no American infidels in Baghdad. Never!

Who are in control, they are not in control of anything - they don’t even control themselves!

I can say, and I am responsible for what I am saying, that they have started to commit suicide under the walls of Baghdad. We will encourage them to commit more suicides quickly.

They are nowhere near the airport ..they are lost in the desert…they can not read a compass…they are retarded.

What captivated the world was the vigor and commitment he showed while obviously telling lies. He so believed in his cause that anything he said came with a air of authority that almost, almost, made you want to believe him.

We are sure that you know some Baghdad Bobs in your life that will speak as if they are telling the truth even though everyone else in the know has contradicting feelings. We invite you to share those such people with their assertions and refuting evidence. This is not an attempt to humiliate anyone, but merely and effort to help the proliferation of the the truth!

You are invited to view former Baghdad Bob nominees or submit your own.
